Matthew Christopher 2015 Collection
Below you will find out what the Knot has to say about our dear friend and designer Matthew Christopher! We are thrilled that they portrayed him exactly the way that we know him as and the exact person that our brides love and find so unique!

From the Knot
***There’s no arguing that designer Matthew Christopher loves the work he does. Every gown is a reflection of his enthusiasm and passion for the business. “I’m very moved by this business,” says Christopher. “When I got married in 2012, I turned to walk down the aisle and that was it. I was struck by the emotion of the moment – the tears, the music. When I’m working with brides, I just want to share this moment with them.” Known for his modern takes on vintage classics, Christopher turns his attention to the 1960’s for his Fall 2015 collection. A glamorous satin ball gown, one-shoulder mermaid gown with architectural detailing and a playful blue waltz-length dress capture the feel of the era. “The blue dress was inspired by the one Audrey Hepburn wore in the wedding scene of Funny Face,” says Christopher. “It’s for the girl has style, knows how to have fun and wants to be totally different on her wedding day. Or for the girl who’s thinking of maybe having a destination wedding in Paris or Italy.”

Brielle by Matthew Christopher
Sweet heart bodice with trumpet skirt. Swarovski crystal beading over the the dotted tulle, with horse hair accents make this gown something you will never forget! Can’t wait til she arrives at Haute Bride in Los Gatos!!

The most amazing paisley patterned lace with a mocha trim and ivory lace overlay. The best fit for a bodice comes from MC! Fit to flare and the strategically placed lace over the swiss dotted tulle is our absolute favorite!!

Strapless floral lace combo with nude lining and a single layer of tulle in dotted swiss. The corset style boning and the unique lace had us at Hello!!!!!!

Hayley Paige SPRING 2015
HP rocked it out this collection with leather, studs, fringe, harness inspired accessories, and chevron geometric patterns; while still finding the perfect bridal balance of combining these elements with whimsical chiffon tiers and soft pale tones of blush. You can see the collection favorites below, and check out Hayley wearing her own fringe last minute design that she whipped up hours before the runway show on Friday night! We also love how she rocked her leather studded mini dress at the Knot’s annual celebrity packed gala Monday evening.

Daenerys … even though this is part of Hayley’s new evening wear line, we are so in love with it! Good news! LUCA by Hayley Paige is very similar! So brides, Luca is the one for you! Georgette A line with metallic trim and draped chain detail with thin horsehair trim …We love this color!!

AMSALE
We were so fortunate to pick up this beautiful line for our boutique in April of this year. We have learned so much about this amazing designer over th epast six months and we are so happy to be a part of this wonderful family! Very inspired by her story, and how she became who she is today. Today we toured her workshop/design studio/corporate offices and I was over the moon!  Amsale’s designs have been worn by some of my favorite actresses Salma Hayek, Julia Roberts and Halle Berry. One of our most favorite and memorable market moments was at the Amsale press show, being seated in the front row, next to a 91 year old woman named Mary who seemed to be some kind of a celebrity in the bridal world that we love so much! When we asked her who she was, she said she was one of the first employees at Kleinfeld and had worked there for over 50 years! When Amsale did her finale, she stopped dead in her tracks to acknowledge Mary!!! It was SO incredibly Sweet!

We are so excited to get our copy of the The White Dress in Color for our bridal salon!!  We have had the pleasure of working with The White Dress by the Shore in Clinton, CT for almost 5 years now! We absolutely love their staff, and their vision of their beautiful bridal salon. We are blessed that accessories line, Haute Bride, continues to be a favorite among their brides and loved seeing our designs styled on models in their book.

About the authors… Written by our good friend, stylist, and bridal salon owner, Beth Chapman of the White Dress the Shore in Clinton, CT, along with Candice Dowling Coppola, and Carla Ten Eyck, three creative and entrepreneurial women of style, substance and charm. They are a trio of friends powering their successful businesses with imagination, a commitment to family and community, and a dedication to inspiring brides to think outside of the wedding binder. Based in Connecticut, and longtime veterans of the retail, event planning, design, art and photography industries, they share their expertise in their first book, The White Dress in Color.

About the book… Planning a wedding offers many beautiful opportunities that are just waiting to be discovered. To help inspire couples and ignite a creative spark, The White Dress in Color is filled with photographs that celebrate the creative spirit through beautiful bridal stories and innovative planning tips from industry experts. Follow each tale as it unfolds in gorgeous on-location photography, and then go behind the scenes where tips and ideas on color palette, textures, flowers, stationery, and, of course, the dress, are revealed. From rustic barn settings to industrial loading docks to tropical beaches, this journey covers thousands of wedding planning ideas in 200+ images and is an ideal source of inspiration for couples looking for a muse to foster creativity throughout their wedding planning process.

  • The White Dress: in color is a gift-sized book filled with colorful eye candy for the modern bride. It is a compilation of styled photo shoots meant to inspire couples as they embark on the journey of planning their wedding.
  • Beth Lindsay Chapman, Candice Dowling Coppola and Carla Ten Eyck are three creative and entrepreneurial women of style, substance and charm, dedicated to inspiring brides to think outside of the wedding binder. Longtime veterans of the retail, event planning, design, art and photography industries, they share their expertise in their first book, The White Dress: in color.
  • Each chapter of the book contains a section entitled, “Behind the Design” which has creative planning, fashion and photography tips, information about the inspiration for the shoot and a QR code, that, when scanned, will lead the reader to The White Dress: in color’s website. Each shoot has a designated page on the site that contains behind-the-scenes videos and images, style tips from Chapman, Coppola and Ten Eyck, and a list of credits and direct links to all of the companies whose products were featured in the shoot.
  • By featuring a same sex wedding and couples of various ethnic backgrounds, the book celebrates diversity, which is not always readily available in publications in the wedding industry.

The White Dress in Color was born out of collaborations between Beth Lindsay Chapman, a stylist and bridal boutique owner, Candice Coppola an event designer and Carla Ten Eyck, a wedding photographer. Chapman and Coppola were invited by Ten Eyck to style one of Ten Eyck’s wedding photography workshops.

A quote by Beth, Candice and Carla on why they decided to publish the book.
“Carla uses these workshops to teach other photographers the art of shooting weddings and bridal details,” Chapman said. “In putting together the workshop photo shoots, the end results were really beautiful and we started to submit them for editorial.” Eventually the trio were hired by various bridal publications to shoot their cover images and editorial spreads.

Inspired by the Pinterest phenomenon and how brides enjoy “pinning” images on a webpage to create a unique wedding theme, Chapman, Coppola and Ten Eyck soon realized how fleeting some mediums were and the book was born. “The images and the content were so beautiful, but they were only seen for one issue of a magazine or fleetingly on a blog,” said Coppola, who heads Jubilee Events. “By publishing a book, we felt that the work could be preserved by having a long shelf life and become more of a keepsake for couples and industry professionals.”
